Job Description
For the 2019-2020 school year:
  1. Assist with safety and security of the school campus to ensure students have a safe and orderly learning environment.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. H.S. Diploma or GED
  2. Desire and ability to intervene in issues surrounding safety
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
  4. Training in public safety - district will provide training
  5. Restraint/self-defense training - district will provide training

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Persons performing service in this position classification will regularly walk 2-5 miles a day in order to patrol the school campus
  2. Provides support for the administration in terms of student, parent, and patron supervision. This includes, but is not limited to, hallways, cafeterias, parking lots, entryways, playgrounds, etc.
  3. Enforces security protocols and intervenes in security issues. This includes but is not limited to monitoring halls, ensuring visitors are properly credentialed, monitoring student movement on campus, assessing and intervening when necessary in any suspicious activity, escorting students to the office, and working with law enforcement should the need arise.
  4. Remains visible throughout the day and in all areas of campus
  5. Treats students, parents, and patrons with respect
  6. Performs other duties as directed by the school administration
  7. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Superintendent and/or Board may deem necessary
