South Central Community Action will be hosting a Live Facebook Event.
This week is National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, a week meant to help squash popular myths about some of the most popular drugs in our area. If you have teachers, parents, school administrators, city officials, etc who have questions and can't get away from their desks THIS IS THEIR TIME! (Rural county areas I am looking at you!)
Our experts will share information and answer questions about alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and opioid experts questions about stats, risks, etc.
For example, did you know more than a third of our teens in South Central Idaho have already tried alcohol, and about 8 percent admit to binge drinking in the last 30 days? Why is that such a big deal? Teenagers are already more likely to participate in risky behaviors and alcohol only worsens the chances of those activities becoming dangerous. Binge drinking can also lead to alcohol poisoning or overdose.
