PPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Idaho Certificate with appropriate endorsement for this position.
- Previous experience in teaching and/or administration.
- Organizational and leadership skills
- High-level communication skills including individual and group skills in mediation, consensus, and problem solving when working with staff, students and patrons.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with general educational ethical requirements of the Jerome School District and the State Department of Education
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, direct and administer the budgets for all programs in area of responsibility.
- Process and submit required reports, apply for grants, submit and maintain budget and financial reports for areas of responsibility.
- Direct development and implementation of district-wide testing program.
- Supervise, coordinate and evaluate on an ongoing basis all programs, curriculum, and procedures in areas of responsibility.
- Develop and initiate methods for identification, referral and placement of exceptional students, including securing medical and psychological examinations.
- Conduct child study team meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain cumulative records of all students enrolled in Special Education programs.
- Communicate and cooperate with community health and social service in order to implement district policy for referral of students to outside agencies.
- Supervise, evaluate and make recommendations for the employment, transfer and release of staff in all areas of responsibility.
- Be aware of legal requirements and new developments governing special education in order to comply with federal, state, local, and district guidelines.
- Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Idaho Teaching Profession adopted by the Professional Standard Commission and the State Board of Education.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the Superintendent.
