Job Description
Certified Teacher – Dual Immersion Elementary – Spanish/English
SUMMARY:
Instruct pupils in assigned subject matter, in Spanish and English, as specified in state law and regulations/procedures of the school district.
Classroom, students, paraprofessionals as assigned by Building Principal
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Idaho Certificate with appropriate endorsement for assigned position.
Documentation (HOUSSE Rubric and/or Praxis Exam) of Highly Qualified for the position.
Ability to perform duties in accordance with general educational ethical requirements of the Jerome School District and the State Department of Education
Bilingual – Spanish/English
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet and instruct students at designated times and locations.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
Maintain the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.
Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
Follow curriculum, instruction and assessment practices as approved by the Board of Trustees.
Adapt subject material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupils
Adapt the curriculum to provide individual, small group or remedial instruction to meet the needs of the individual pupil.
Participate in curriculum, developmental programs and student activities.
Complete appropriate reporting requirements in a timely manner.
Evaluate and suggest revisions to the program, as needed.
Any other duties as directed by the Building Administrator.
Teaches content in two languages: Spanish and English.
Conduct instruction effectively and proficiently in Spanish and English.
Assist in the development of curriculum for the Dual Immersion program.
Provide educational experiences in the classroom that reflect the philosophy, goals and expectations of the Dual Immersion program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently stands, walks and sits. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs., such as boxes of books and AV/VCR carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the
