Wages $11:00 to $14.50 an hour DOE/DOQ

General Description:
This is a supervisory position under the general supervision of the Director. The Pool Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the swimming pool facility, staff, and programs. This position is highly visible and is often the public's main contact with the Jerome Recreation District Swimming Pool. This individual should be professional in manner, appearance, possess strong people skills, and enjoy working with the public, self-motivated with strong organization and time management skills.

General Responsibilities: Operation and maintenance of the facility, management of staff; operating within a budget, and preparing various operational reports.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate (Manager Only)
  • Minimum 2 years pool management experience (Head Guard/Assistant Manager)
  • WSI certification or ability to obtain certification prior to June 1
  • First Aid and CPR certificates
  • LGI certification preferred.
  • Pool Operator's Certification (or ability to obtain within agreed-upon timeline)
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Good Physical Condition
  • General understanding of the operation and management of public pools
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • General knowledge of pool chemicals, monitoring water quality and maintaining public health standards.
Examples of Work:
  • Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of the Jerome Recreation District Pool.
  • Plan, organize, promote, and conduct a swim lesson program for all ages.
  • Hire, train, and supervise pool staff, and provide regular in-service training.
  • Provide daily and weekly schedules for staff.
  • Perform basic maintenance on pool equipment and conduct hourly tests of water chemistry, pumps, and boilers, and keep appropriate maintenance records.
  • Enforce JRD policies and procedures necessary for the operation of the facility.
  • Schedule and conduct swimming lessons and evaluations.
  • Keep facility clean and organized.
  • Recommend and purchase necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Communicate needs of the department to the Director.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Director.
