CSI ANNOUNCES 2021 COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES

TWIN FALLS, ID – The College of Southern Idaho will hold twelve separate commencement ceremonies over two days this year to accommodate for social distancing. The ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 7, and run through 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, and will be held in the CSI Fine Arts Auditorium. Friends and family can watch a livestream of their graduate’s ceremony by visiting www.csi.edu/commencement.

Former CSI Rodeo team member and alum Braxten Nielsen has been selected as this year’s keynote speaker. In 2017, Nielsen was in a rodeo accident in Filer, Idaho. After a 6-hour surgery to repair his broken back, he was told that he was paralyzed from the waist down and was given a five percent chance of ever walking again. Determined to defy the odds, he made it his goal to walk out of the hospital. Two months later, his goal became reality. Nielsen is now a motivational speaker with a mission to instill a belief that a person can overcome obstacles and succeed in life through motivation, perseverance, and faith.

A guest ticket and facial covering are required for all in person attendees at each ceremony, regardless of age. Those interested in attending in person must secure a guest ticket from a CSI graduate in advance. Tickets have already been distributed to graduates and are not available from the College. If you have any questions concerning commencement, please contact the Office of the Registrar at [email protected].
